Making a Lasting Gift to Episcopal Senior Ministries
Episcopal Senior Ministries relies greatly on the generosity of donors in order to maintain and expand its important services to our community's senior citizens. In fact, the services we provide today are possible because of donors who made generous planned gifts over the years. For example, ESM's endowment which grew from the 1920s as the result of many planned gifts, not only provides substantial support for today's services, but will also provide support for future generations.
We encourage our friends to consider making a planned gift so that ESM can continue to provide its services today and expand services for future generations. Your gift will ensure that ESM's legacy of caring continues.
What is a planned gift? A planned gift can take a variety of forms, including gifts of life insurance and charitable remainder trusts. A will bequest is the most common and easiest planned gift to execute.
What would my gift be used for? There are a variety of ways your gift could be used, from supporting current services to building the endowment or designating a trust for both current services and future needs. Gifts can help provide meals and managed care for low income senior citizens, sponsor educational programs, events or service personnel at our retirement community, refurbish common living areas, or upgrade facilities in our group homes or provide transportation to those who are unable to access services.
Please feel free to explore named-giving opportunities with the Development Director or Executive Director.
What are some of the benefits of making a planned gift? A planned gift:
Allows the donor to make a larger charitable gift than they may have thought possible.
Provides an inheritance for heirs at a reduced tax liability
Reduces income tax and/or avoids capital gains taxes
Helps you plan for the financial needs of a spouse or loved one
Leaves a charitable legacy for future generations
