Parish Volunteer Services
Parish Volunteer Services is the Episcopal Senior Ministries' program which works in partnership with all the Episcopal congregations and missions in the Diocese of Washington to address the issues of aging and develop ministries for, with and by seniors.
Parish Volunteer Services staff and volunteers interact and advocate with local offices on aging, interfaith program leaders, and public and private organizations which provide information and services to be knowledgeable about and work to improve existing resources for congregations and their members.
Guiding Principles:
Episcopal Senior Minisitries' activities in this area are guided by four directives:
- Empowering seniors to take better care of themselves and others
- Providing opportunities for personal and spiritual growth and volunteerism
- Addressing the issues of aging and ageism
- Recognizing the contributions of seniors to their church and community.
